Lots of Sunshine!

We had a fabulous time at our Reading Blizzard! We enjoyed lots of fun things and read a lot of books! Mrs. Dykstra was our mystery reader and we had pizza and cupcakes as treats! Look for pictures at the end of the blog. We had a fun time at the ODC this morning! The sunshine was amazing! We had fun enjoying God's creation! A few pictures at the end of the blog. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your child's life each day. It is a joy seeing them grow and change, and I find it hard to believe we are almost three fourths of the way through the year!       HOMEWORK: New homework will be sent home on Monday, Mar. 2 and is due back March 9th. I am sending home a double digit subtraction with regrouping paper. The kids have been working really hard on learning how to do this and could use a little more practice at home. Spring Like Weather

A wonderful week in 2nd grade! Students started reading non fiction books and are enjoying learning about God through history and his creation! We started brainstorming ideas for our All About books. Students worked hard on facts they already know so that we can then focus on what we need to research. We worshiped together on Ash Wednesday and talked about how we deserve death but Jesus bore our punishment and we have the hope of living with God in Heaven some day!  HOMEWORK: New homework will be sent home on Monday, Feb. 23 and is due back March 2nd. We have switched to Subtraction Facts for our Math Homework. Psalm 121 has been sent home. Please use for devotions this month. *New words of the week will be coming home in the Homework Folder on Monday.  Please work on words your child may need extra practice with. Valentine's Day

We had a fun week in 2nd grade! We had a fun Valentine's Party! What great a day to share with our friends and classmates in 2nd grade! We have so much to be thankful for and the goodness and love God showers on us is amazing! God's faithfulness is evident each and every day! It's such a blessing to see the kids grow in their faith each day and know they love Jesus! Thank you for your faithfulness in making Christian education a priority for your family! It is an honor to teach your son/daughter each day!   HOMEWORK: New homework will be sent home on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and is due back the 23rd. 100 Days!!

God is good! All the time! We celebrated 100 days of school this week and the kids had a fun time! We ate our cereal together, had devotions and looked back on God's goodness, and then celebrated with a variety of fun activities. The kids had cool ideas using a variety of items. We spelled out words with cups and linking cubes made the number 100 with dominoes and building blocks. The kids have such great imaginations! The students looked fabulous dressed as 100 year olds! Lots of hard work this week! We had a little more work this week because of the snow days last week. Snow Day Week!

Here is the updated blog for this week!  HOMEWORK: New homework will be sent home on Monday, Jan. 26 and is due Monday, Feb. 2. *Please practice Psalm 1 at home. *New words of the week will be coming home in the Homework Folder on Monday.  We will have our test on the 3rd 15 words on Monday, the 26th. Just in case you need the words for some extra practice they are: gone, sure, great, knew, watch, off, said, much, know, such, new, would, could, should, too. *Make sure  ALL  library books come back next week please! 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL: Thursday, February, 5 (if we have no snow days) will be our 100th day of school!
