We are in awe of God's faithfulness to His people despite their unfaithfulness to Him. What a beautiful reminder that our God who changes the seasons also holds each of us gently in His hands. We had a great time at the Walk-a-thon! Thanks to all the parents who helped out to make it a huge success! We had fun but rainy time at the ODC and learned a lot about plants and how they move! God has created some amazing plants and they are so unique and special just like each of the students in my class! We have had fun learning about some cool plants and we started some investigations into what plants need!

Coral was our Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with the class. We enjoyed getting to know more about you! We learned that you like to ride your bike and go camping. Your favorite food is pizza. Your favorite place is the U.P. and you want to be a pop star when you grow up! You are so special to God and to us, Coral, and we loved getting to know more about you this week!

It's been such a joy this week to watch the students dig deeper into some of the Old Testament Bible stories and they have loved making connections of how God used these events in each person's life to keep his covenant with his people.

What is Walkathon? Walkathon is an HC-wide fundraiser where elementary students walk to raise money for their school. The funds raised by South Side students go directly to South Side needs. These needs include classroom supplies, educational outings, and other resources. Parents are welcome to watch the event from the bleachers, while the track is reserved for teachers and students.

Walkathon forms will be sent home in your child’s backpack soon and are due back by Wednesday, September 18. The Walkathon event will take place at 1:00 on Wednesday, September 25.

We have lots going on in each subject area, and have enjoyed learning about God and learning about how to live a life full of wisdom from James in Bible. The students have enjoyed the discussions we have had in Bible!
