We have lots going on in each subject area, and have enjoyed learning about God and learning about how to live a life full of wisdom from James in Bible. The students have enjoyed the discussions we have had in Bible!
Here's what you need to know!
Homework:
Homework Folders are coming home for the first time on Monday, Sept. 9 and the work inside will be due on the following Monday, Sept. 16.
Reminder- 100 minutes for Reading. This can be your child reading on his/her own OR you and your child taking turns.
Math papers- time each half and see how many correct. The goal is to get faster at our facts each time.
Friday Folders come back to school on Monday!
Keep practicing Psalm 8, we have been learning the first 4 verses at school.
SCHOOL PICTURES:
*Picture order forms are coming home today, and they are due by Monday, Sept 16. If you have multiple kiddos at HC, be sure to keep track of the pre-printed names on the order forms. Picture Day will be Wednesday, Sept. 18. IF YOU WANT A YEARBOOK, NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO ORDER IT! We need you to return the picture order forms even if you aren't ordering anything, and even if you are ordering online, as our photo company needs the paperwork for each student. Thanks!
Field Trip:
We will be heading to the ODC on Sept. 24 to learn about how seeds travel and will visit some animals. Students will need a lunch from home as we will be there all day. Please dress for the weather as we will go rain or shine!
Jungle Explorer of the Week:
We will start with our first Jungle Explorer next week! If your child is selected I will send home a note to let you know what to do along with your child's poster to decorate and the Guessing Jar to fill. So excited to learn more about each of our students! The students had fun learning more about Mrs. Dreyer!
Walkathon
What is Walkathon? Walkathon is an HC-wide fundraiser where elementary students walk to raise money for their school. The funds raised by South Side students go directly to South Side needs. These needs include classroom supplies, educational outings, and other resources. Parents are welcome to watch the event from the bleachers, while the track is reserved for teachers and students.
Walkathon forms will be sent home in your child’s backpack soon and are due back by Wednesday, September 18. The Walkathon event will take place at 1:00 on Wednesday, September 25.
