Winter Time!

This week has been busy with NWEA assessments and preparing for our chapel. The kids have been working so hard and are excited to present our chapel next Wed. the 24th! The students are amazing and I am amazed at how much they learned so far this year and they keep growing and growing! Our classroom community continues to grow close, just like a family. It has been so great to laugh together, support each other, and pray for each other. Thanks for being an active part of our classroom, and for supporting us in the many ways you do! We had a  great time sledding with our buddies and  we were so glad there was snow! Check out a few pictures at the bottom.

HOMEWORK:

We'll stick with the usual- Monday a new reading slip, math homework page will come home and be due- January 29.
*Psalm 1 was sent home, please practice at home.
*New words of the week will be coming home in the Homework Folder on Monday.

Chapel:
Our class is leading chapel next week Wednesday, Jan. 24 because of the snow day. Chapel is from 8:35-9:05am. We are excited to present our chapel to everyone! The students have been practicing a lot!

JUNGLE EXPLORER OF THE WEEK:

Samantha was our special Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with our class. We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you love to color and play with your dog. Your favorite place is Disney World, and your favorite food is spaghetti! We love that you want to be a teacher when you grow up! You are so special to God and to us, Samantha, and we loved getting to know more about you this week!

WORDS OF THE WEEK:

Thanks for helping your child practice these words at home: does, friend, enough, should, you're, through, ready, suddenly, might, special, beautiful, couldn't.

Please make sure to go back and practice words that your child has had trouble with in the past. Our words for next week: either, thought, they're These are the last 3 in this set of 15. We will be having a quiz coming up soon.

100TH DAY OF SCHOOL:

Tuesday, February 6 (if we have no snow days) will be our 100th day of school! Where has the time gone? We are looking forward to celebrating 100 days of God's faithfulness together! We have lots of fun activities planned, and one of them is dressing like we are 100 years old! (No wheelchairs or walkers though, our classroom just isn't big enough!) Don't feel like you need to go buy things...just get creative with this! We wanted to give you a heads up so you can start raiding your Grandma's closets for some fun ideas!

CEREAL:

Another thing we need you to have your child do is count out 100 pieces of their favorite cereal and bring it in a baggie with your child's name on it by Friday, February 2. We'll provide the bowls, milk and spoons and we'll be having a hundred's day breakfast together on our special day! Your child might need to eat a little at home too--100 pieces is not as much as you'd think! :)

WACKY WEDNESDAYS:
We'll have some fun themed Wednesdays coming up in January/February to spice up these wintery days.
These days will be as follows:
January 24-Sports Day - clothing only -no sporting equipment
January 31-Hat Day
