Beach Day

Thank you! I am so thankful for your love and support during this year! Your encouragement has blessed me so much...thank you. Thanks too, for entrusting your children under my care...they have been a joy to teach!



This will be the last blog update for the school year! I might just post some end of the year pictures on the last day! We had fun at the beach today, check out some pictures at the end of the blog. 

End of the Year Chapel

Save the date! We will have a special end of the year Chapel to send off our 2nd graders on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 4. Come gather with us from 10:25-11:15am for a time of worship together. We’ll be out on the playground, so bring a lawn chair if you’d like (if there’s rain we’ll move it to the gym).  After chapel, Preschool students will be dismissed, and K-2 students will have a quick 15 minutes to close out the year in the classrooms with their teacher, and their dismissal will follow at 11:30am.

Bags:

Please have your child bring a large grocery bag to school on June 3, to take home all the goodies we have in our desks and lockers! We will keep a few things for our last day but most everything will come home on June 3.

MOVIN' UP DAY:

Monday, June 2 will be a special day in 2nd grade. It's MOVING UP DAY! This means that your child will get an opportunity to visit Pine Ridge, meet next year's 3rd grade teacher, and go on a school tour. This has always been a great experience in the past, and it helps settle the nervous butterflies that students may have about the changes to a new building. I'm sure you'll hear lots of great stories about the students' visit!

Summer Packets:

I have summer packets available for your child to keep up with reading and math skills over the summer. These will be coming home on our last day of school. Lots of fun activities to use over the summer!

LIBRARY BOOKS:
If you have any library books at home please send them to school ASAP as it's helpful for the volunteers in the library to have all books back for their end of year work!

Happy Friday! What a fantastic week we have had in second grade! Kid Town has been a success and the students have enjoyed it immensely! We have seen wonderful examples of generous spirits and students who are polite and caring business boys/girls, and they have also been wonderful shoppers with a lot of patience. They have had a ton of fun learning about businesses and economics! What a great week in 2nd grade! We have been working hard on our Conference packets and getting ready for meeting with our parents. What a blessing to see the students grow this year and it was so fun to see them share in the celebration of learning! Homework: Monday, March 24  a new reading slip and math homework page will come home and be due- March 31.  *Matthew 28. Please practice this beautiful passage as a family! *Look for the blue paper in your child's Homework Folder   with our sight words!
