Pumpkin Day

Thank you for sharing your child with me again this week! Each new day with your child's smiling face is a blessing, and I love seeing their passion and joy for learning while exploring God's creation. The kids had fun at Sassafras Ridge enjoying the change of seasons! We celebrated Pumpkin Day and we had so much fun! Thanks to all the parents who helped make it a huge success! 

Homework:

Homework Folders came home on Monday, Oct. 27 and the work inside is due on Nov. 3. 
*Reminder- 100 minutes for Reading. This can be your child reading on his/her own OR you and your child taking turns.  
Math papers- time each half and see how many correct.  The goal is to get faster at our facts each time.

November's  Bible memory came home in the Homework Folder on Monday. Enjoy Psalm 100.

Library books due on Wednesdays!

Jungle  Explorer of the Week:
Lenix was our Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with our class! We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you like baking with your mom, and you're good at riding horses and your favorite food is watermelon! Your favorite place to be is Florida! We love that you want to be a horse trainer when you grow up! You are so special to God and to us, Lenix, and we loved getting to know more about you this week!

Thank you!  I am so thankful for your love and support during this year! Your encouragement has blessed me so much...thank you. Thanks too, for entrusting your children under my care...they have been a joy to teach! This will be the last blog update for the school year! We will have a special end of the year Chapel to send off our 2nd graders on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 4. Come gather with us from 10:25-11:15am for a time of worship together. We’ll be out on the playground, so bring a lawn chair if you’d like (if there’s rain we’ll move it to the gym).  After chapel, Preschool students will be dismissed, and K-2 students will have a quick 15 minutes to close out the year in the classrooms with their teacher, and their dismissal will follow at 11:30am. Kid Town in the Gym

Happy Friday! What a fantastic week we have had in second grade! Kid Town has been a success and the students have enjoyed it immensely! We have seen wonderful examples of generous spirits and students who are polite and caring business boys/girls, and they have also been wonderful shoppers with a lot of patience. They have had a ton of fun learning about businesses and economics! Thanks so much to all the parent helpers who came in and were a banker so kids could get paid, glued items together, helped with ideas, ran stores, and helped us pack things up!! What a great week in 2nd grade! We have been working hard on our Conference packets and getting ready for meeting with our parents. What a blessing to see the students grow this year and it was so fun to see them share in the celebration of learning! Homework: Monday, March 24  a new reading slip and math homework page will come home and be due- March 31.  *Matthew 28. Please practice this beautiful passage as a family! *Look for the blue paper in your child's Homework Folder   with our sight words!
