Gratitude

Gratitude. A word we have talked about as we wrote in our Gratitude journals this week. We focused on how we can count our blessings from God and tell about them. But there is also a why behind some of the things that are important to us and we thought about not only the it, but also the why. So as we wrote in our Gratitude Journals we also reflected on why we are grateful for the people and things God has blesses us with each day.

Jungle  Explorer of the Week:
Brinlea was our Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with our class! We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you like to do gymnastics, and your favorite food is pizza! Your favorite place to be is Florida! We love that you want to be a gymnastics teacher when you grow up! You are so special to God and to us, Brinlea, and we loved getting to know more about you this week!

Book orders:
A scholastic book order is coming home today. If you would like to order please do so by Dec. 3. Lots of great books to give as gifts! I can keep them a secret if you would like me too, just let me know!

Class Chapel-Community Lunch: Chapel is from 10:40-11:10am

Right after our class chapel on Dec 4, our class families are invited to stay and eat together with the students in the gym. Bring your own lunch (or if you would like to order school lunches for your family email Rachel Steen in the office). The students will get their regular lunches and we can all eat together. This is a great opportunity to meet a family you don’t yet know!

Christmas Tree Day:

Our class will be having Christmas Tree Day on Dec. 2. We will be learning about Christmas Trees, do a STEM activity, and make a craft. If kids could wear Christmas colors that would be fun!

Kingdom Bringing Opportunity with Community Action House

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! This season, we’ll be serving as a collection

site for Community Action House’s Winter Gear Drive. At Holland Christian, part of our

mission is to “transform the world for Jesus Christ"and we’re eager to give our students a tangible way to live that out by helping care for

those in need right here in our community. If you’d like to join us, you can find all the details—

including a list of needed donations—in the flier linked here

The donation box will be available starting on November 17 and be at South Side through

December 1. Together, we can help bring a piece of God's kingdom to our local community.

Opportunity

Holland Christian High School’s Entrepreneurship class is raising money for Refuge on the Rock, an orphanage in Guatemala. Our students have been working hard to make quality products, home decor, and more, which you can see at HCdesigns.store. Thank you for your support!

Children's Advocacy Center:

As part of our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to transform the world for Jesus Christ, HC works to provide students with the knowledge and skills to guard themselves in this fallen world. Part of HC’s commitment to student safety is providing counsel and resources for sexual abuse prevention and intervention from the Children’s Advocacy Center. Please see the attached informed consent letter for more information.

If you have any questions about the content of the presentation, we encourage you to reach out to the Children’s Advocacy Center. If you would like your child to not participate in the presentation, please fill out this form at least one week prior to the presentation date. HC will anticipate participation unless they receive a submitted opt-out form.

Our classroom presentation will be on Monday December 8 from 9:20-10:00am. We will do a few short classroom activities to follow up in the weeks after.
