Chapel
Christmas isn't about "hoping" for certain gifts and presents, but about a promised hope in our Savior. Our God always keeps His promises, and He is faithful! What a comfort that is! As a class we are taking time to slow down, and to reflect on God's goodness and faithfulness. We had a lot of fun this week! Check out a few pictures at the end of our Christmas Tree day and chapel!
Homework:
Next week we'll stick with the usual:
Purple Reading Slip will come home Monday (due Monday, Dec. 15)
Math Homework Page will come home Monday (due Monday, Dec. 15)
Bible Memory: Luke 2
Please practice this at home or use for your devotions during the month of December.
Library books due Wednesdays!
Please have your child bring in his/her "boy" or "girl" gift on Thursday, December 19. We ask that each boy come with one wrapped "To: A boy, From: _______" labeled gift, and each girl come with one wrapped "To: A girl, from _______" labeled gift. These will be used as a part of games and activities at the class Christmas party. Please limit the value of these gifts to $3-$5 only. Even though you may be able to find a great deal on a higher priced item for only $3-$5, it helps us avoid some difficulty if the value of each item is actually within the range that is set.. It is not a requirement to participate in the gift exchange part of the party if you would rather not participate.
As part of our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to transform the world for Jesus Christ, HC works to provide students with the knowledge and skills to guard themselves in this fallen world. Part of HC’s commitment to student safety is providing counsel and resources for sexual abuse prevention and intervention from the Children’s Advocacy Center. Please see the attached informed consent letter for more information.
If you have any questions about the content of the presentation, we encourage you to reach out to the Children’s Advocacy Center. If you would like your child to not participate in the presentation, please fill out this form at least one week prior to the presentation date. HC will anticipate participation unless they receive a submitted opt-out form.
Our classroom presentation will be on Monday December 8 from 9:20-10:00am. We will do a few short classroom activities to follow up in the weeks after.
Book Fair
Pine Ridge Book Fair will be open for families to shop Wednesday, December 10 from 2-4pm and Thursday, December 11 from 3-5:30pm. The Book Fair will accept cash, check, or credit card. The book fair has an abundance of books, but there are also pens/pencils, posters, and other fun items to purchase. We appreciate your support of the book fair which supplies funds for the library!
