Thank You for a Great Year!

Thank you!  I am so thankful for your love and support during this year! Your encouragement has blessed me so much...thank you. Thanks too, for entrusting your children under my care...they have been a joy to teach! This will be the last blog update for the school year! I might just post some end of the year pictures on the last day! Looking forward to our field trip to the Cappon House and the Settler's House, Windmill Island, and then lunch at Smallenberg Park! Lots of fun with Field Day this week!  Check out all the pictures of our fun  week at the end of the blog! MOVIN' UP DAY: Tuesday, June 4 will be a special day in 2nd grade. It's MOVING UP DAY! This means that your child will get an opportunity to visit Pine Ridge, meet next year's 3rd grade teacher, and go on a school tour. This has always been a great experience in the past, and it helps settle the nervous butterflies that students may have about the changes to a new building. I'm sure you'll hear lot...

A great week in 2nd grade! We continue to wrap up some things and continue to learn new things each day! The students can feel summer break is close! Thanks for sharing your child each day! We had a fun morning of Praise with Mr. Timmer! FIELD DAY: Field day this year is going to be held on the afternoon of May 28. Please send along water bottles for your children, dress for the weather, slather on sunscreen, and pray for a nice day! Happy Friday! How are we in the final stretch of school, approaching our last 12 days together? We still have lots of fun things to pack into our time together. God is SO good--we have SO much to celebrate! We have lots of fun end of year things going on in the next couple of weeks!  We looked at some artifacts from the past and learned how we can use these to learn about people and places from long ago. Ask your students what some of them were! Homework for the year is all done! Dioramas: The students have finished their Dioramas and they will be on display in the Library starting Monday afternoon. Feel free to come in and take a peek during pick up or drop off times or even lunch if you have a moment! The students did a great job on them! Tulip Time '24

We had lots of fun marching together as a class in the Tulip Time parade! Thanks for helping us get your kiddos ready to go...they did a great job! Even with all the rain!!  So much fun to celebrate part or dutch heritage and to celebrate community! The kids did such a fabulous job! Check out pictures at the end of the blog! HOMEWORK: Reading slips and math papers are due on Monday May 13. Our final Math Homework page and final purple Reading slip will be coming home on Monday. They will be due May 20! Work on our new Bible Memory- Galatians 5:22-26 -If you have extra time around the house some great things to practice are: Writing numbers up to 100 (watch for letter/number reversals!), double digit addition/subtraction problems, names of coins and amounts, and counting piles of spare change! National Day of Prayer

  A great week in 2nd grade! We got back into our regular routine after all the Kid Town work. Thanks again so much to those who came in and helped out!! It makes a huge difference and makes things run smoothly! We got together with Miss Hoeze's  first graders performed their chick plays for us! The 2nd graders really enjoyed seeing the plays they did last year and had fun seeing the new born chicks at school!  National Day of Prayer: On Thursday we gathered as PK-2 classes to pray for our nation and our school! What a blessing to have the freedom to pray and gather in worship! Continue to pray for our leaders and that they may seek God's wisdom in all their decisions. Homework: New reading slips and math pages are coming home on May 6. They will be due Monday, May 13. Math homework is more practice with double digit addition/subtraction.  * New Bible Memory will come home in the Homework Folder Monday! Test on May 10 of our last set of 15 words. Please practice ...
