Another great week in second grade! We are celebrating our study of the Lord's Prayer with musical activities this week! It's been fun seeing the growth and understanding of the Lord's Prayer and how this is helping each student know God more!


We recognized Veterans Day, learned about this day, and why we remember and honor those who served and those currently serving! Thank you for your service!

Jungle Explorer:

Henry was our special Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with our class. We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you like driving golf carts and

basketball. We love that you want to be an engineer when you grow up! Your favorite place is Taco Bell and your favorite food is tacos. You are so special to God and to us, Henry, and we loved getting to know more about you this week!



Needed:
Our class is in need of toilet paper tubes! We will need them in Dec. for an upcoming project. If you are willing to collect them and send them in that would be great!

Children's Advocacy Center:
The CAC is coming on Dec. 5 to talk with our students about how to be safe with our bodies and strangers. Check out the letter in your child's Friday Folder for more information.

Our Lost and Found is growing! Please check out our South Side Lost & Found Album to see if any of these items belong to your child. Feel free to email email Rachel Steen, to claim your item(s), and we will be sure to get it into your child’s backpack.

Thank you!  I am so thankful for your love and support during this year! Your encouragement has blessed me so much...thank you. We will have a special end of the year Chapel to send off our 2nd graders on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 4. Come gather with us from 10:25-11:15am for a time of worship together. We’ll be out on the playground, so bring a lawn chair if you’d like (if there’s rain we’ll move it to the gym).  After chapel, Preschool students will be dismissed, and K-2 students will have a quick 15 minutes to close out the year in the classrooms with their teacher, and their dismissal will follow at 11:30am. Kid Town in the Gym

Happy Friday! What a fantastic week we have had in second grade! Kid Town has been a success and the students have enjoyed it immensely! We have seen wonderful examples of generous spirits and students who are polite and caring business boys/girls, and they have also been wonderful shoppers with a lot of patience. They have had a ton of fun learning about businesses and economics! Thanks so much to all the parent helpers who came in and were a banker so kids could get paid, glued items together, helped with ideas, ran stores, and helped us pack things up!! What a great week in 2nd grade! We have been working hard on our Conference packets and getting ready for meeting with our parents. What a blessing to see the students grow this year and it was so fun to see them share in the celebration of learning! Homework: Monday, March 24  a new reading slip and math homework page will come home and be due- March 31.  *Matthew 28.
