Pumpkin Day

Thanks for sharing your child with me agian this week! We had a lot of fun on Pumpkin Day! The kids learned about the pumpkin life cycle and did some fun math activities with our pumpkins. We enjoyed being outside for this fun day! Thank you so much to the moms who came and let groups! They were awesome!  We had the 8th grade orchestra visit on Monday and the 2nd graders were taught how to play an instrument in the orchestra and played a song with the 8th graders. Look for pictures from both of these events at the end of the blog.

Homework:
Homework folders will come home on Monday the 26th and the work inside will be:
Reading slip-100  minutes for the week
Math- time each half
Blue half sheet- we will be starting the next 15 words.
Keep using Psalm 23 for your devotions this month.

Farmer of the Week:

Emerson W. was our Farmer of the Week this week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with the class! We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you love rollerblading and running. Your favorite place is up north at the Ranch, and your favorite food is pizza. When you grow up you want to be a doctor. You are so special to God and to us, Emerson, we loved getting to know more about you this week!

Picture Retakes:

If you would like your child to retake their school picture this will be on Nov. 4. Please send back the pictures you received on the day of retakes.

We’re Hiring at Holland Christian’s Rose Park Campus! We are looking for a caring, dependable person to join our after-school care team! This part-time or full-time position offers hours from 3:00–5:30 p.m. at $17/hour and could be a great opportunity for a parent, retiree, or anyone looking for a few afternoon hours working with children in a school setting. Responsibilities include supervising and caring for students, helping with fun and engaging activities, building positive relationships with children, creating a safe and welcoming environment, and supporting students throughout their afternoon. You don’t need to be a teacher to be a great fit! We’re looking for someone who is responsible, patient, caring, and enjoys spending time with children. We are starting to get a few lost and found items. Please check our South Side Lost and Found Album to see if any of these items belong to your child. Feel free to email Rachel Steen, to claim your item(s), and we will be sure to get it into your child’s backpack.
