Easter

Welcome Back! We are so thankful for God's provision for all of us over Spring Break! It's been so fun to hear about all the different adventures that we had over break! God is good! Happy Easter to all of you! Our God is so amazing and we have spent time this week looking at how much Jesus loved us and we have finished up our Easter stories. May you feel his love as you celebrate this weekend!


Homework Reminders:

- *Current reading and math pages are due Monday, April 15. Along with your child's first pages of Kid Town Homework- pink reading sheet and blue math sheet and 1 Bible verse to say. Reading slip must be signed!

* Work on our Bible Memory of Acts 2:1-4!
* Keep working on our sight words. A new blue sheet coming home on Monday.

Kid Town Homework:
*Today in your child's Friday Folder, is your child's first set of Kid Town Homework. This packet contains your child's work for the week of April 21-25. It includes information about how Kid Town Homework goes. Kid Town Homework is for each day. Your child is responsible for returning a reading and math slip each day and memorizing a Bible memory to say each day, to earn money for Kid Town. This Homework is optional, but will make a difference in how much money they earn for each week. Reading slips must be signed by a parent to count towards their earnings. Next Friday we will send home the Homework Packet for the week of April 28-May 2.

Jungle Explorer:
Kaius was our special Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with our class. We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you are good at soccer and reading. We love that you want to be a soccer player when you grow up! Your favorite place is Urban Air and your favorite food is pizza. You are so special to God and to us, Kaius, and we loved getting to know more about you this week.

Tulip Time:

If you have chosen to be in the “Dutch Heritage” section, remember that you’ll need to wear a Dutch costume. If you chose the “Tulip” section for the parade, you will want to make sure that you have your Holland Christian Walk-a-thon t-shirt ready to go.Wednesday, May 7 will be a full day for all students due to Tulip Time removing the Wednesday parade. On Thursday, May 8, school will be dismissed for kindergarteners at 11:30am. 1st and 2nd graders will remain at school, eat a sack lunch from home, have recess, change into their apparel (if they choose not to wear it to school that day), and be bused to the parade route. More information will come as we get closer to the parade.


Lost and Found

The office is continuing to update our South Side Lost and Found Album as items come into the gray tub in the office. Please check it out to see if any of these items belong to your child. Feel free to email Rachel Steen, to claim your item(s), and we will be sure to get it into your child's backpack.

Library notice:
The week of May 5-9 is the last week for students to borrow books from [insert school name here] Library. 
All student library materials are due by May 16.

Thank you!  I am so thankful for your love and support during this year! Your encouragement has blessed me so much...thank you. Thanks too, for entrusting your children under my care...they have been a joy to teach! This will be the last blog update for the school year! We will have a special end of the year Chapel to send off our 2nd graders on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 4. Come gather with us from 10:25-11:15am for a time of worship together. We’ll be out on the playground, so bring a lawn chair if you’d like (if there’s rain we’ll move it to the gym).  After chapel, Preschool students will be dismissed, and K-2 students will have a quick 15 minutes to close out the year in the classrooms with their teacher, and their dismissal will follow at 11:30am. Kid Town in the Gym

Happy Friday! What a fantastic week we have had in second grade! Kid Town has been a success and the students have enjoyed it immensely! We have seen wonderful examples of generous spirits and students who are polite and caring business boys/girls, and they have also been wonderful shoppers with a lot of patience. They have had a ton of fun learning about businesses and economics! Thanks so much to all the parent helpers who came in and were a banker so kids could get paid, glued items together, helped with ideas, ran stores, and helped us pack things up!! What a great week in 2nd grade! We have been working hard on our Conference packets and getting ready for meeting with our parents. What a blessing to see the students grow this year and it was so fun to see them share in the celebration of learning! Homework: Monday, March 24  a new reading slip and math homework page will come home and be due- March 31.  *Matthew 28.
