We had a great time Thursday morning despite canceling because of the rain! We got together with the first graders and read books together, played math games, and did some activities in the gym.
Homework:
Homework Folders will come home again on Monday, Sept. 21, and the work inside will be due the following Monday, Sept. 28.
Reminder- 100 minutes for Reading. This can be your child reading on his/her own OR you and your child taking turns.
Math papers- time each half and see how many correct. The goal is to get faster at our facts each time.

Keep practicing Psalm 8, we have been learning some of the verses at school.
Walkathon:
What is Walkathon? Walkathon is an HC-wide fundraiser where elementary students walk to raise money for their school. The funds raised by South Side students go directly to South Side needs. These needs include classroom supplies, educational outings, and other resources. Parents are welcome to watch the event from the bleachers, while the track is reserved for teachers and students.
Balance Bikes:
We have a set of balance bikes that students may use on the playground. Each grade level has been assigned a day of the week. Our day is Friday. If students want to ride these at recess they must have a helmet at school.
