Elliot was our Jungle Explorer of the Week! Thanks for sharing your poster and pictures with our class! We enjoyed getting to know you and learning that you like playing football, playing with your friends, and playing piano and your favorite food is sushi! Your favorite place to be is Florida! We love that you want to be professional baseball player when you grow up! You are so special to God and to us, Elliot, and we loved getting to know more about you this week!

Grandparents/Friends

We had a fun visit from the 8th grade orchestra kids today! They played some songs for us and let the 2nd graders get up close to the instruments! They showed the 2nd graders how to play their instruments and then the 2nd graders played a song! Super fun! Look for pictures of this at the end of the blog. We had a super fun time with our
grandparents/friends on Thursday! What a pleasure to see the beautiful connection between the generations! So much love to go around! The kids had so much fun being with them and singing for them!

Hurricane Relief Supplies Drive
You may have seen or heard of the severe damage to many areas in the South on the news and through conversations, but perhaps don’t know exactly how to help. Here’s a way we can meet many hurting people’s basic needs. Harderwyk Ministries is sending a team down to Asheville, North Carolina next week to help serve and provide supplies to the people in those communities. We have an opportunity to practice Community Growing and Servant Living by partnering with them to collect needed supplies. If you are willing and able please send in any of the following supplies by Monday, October 14th and Mrs. Timmer will bring them to the team at Harderwyk.

What a beautiful week it's been. It's amazing to witness the intricate changes in season that our Creative God has designed and puts on display each fall!  We are reminded that despite what's going on in the world around us, God remains constant and He is with us! What a comfort that is!

We are in awe of God's faithfulness to His people despite their unfaithfulness to Him. What a beautiful reminder that our God who changes the seasons also holds each of us gently in His hands. What is Walkathon? Walkathon is an HC-wide fundraiser where elementary students walk to raise money for their school. The funds raised by South Side students go directly to South Side needs. These needs include classroom supplies, educational outings, and other resources. Parents are welcome to watch the event from the bleachers, while the track is reserved for teachers and students.

Walkathon forms will be sent home in your child’s backpack soon and are due back by Wednesday, September 18. The Walkathon event will take place at 1:00 on Wednesday, September 25.
